CATARACTS

Cataracts form when the clear lens in your eye becomes cloudy, which reduces the quality and clarity of the image formed on your retina. As this affects how well you can see, it can also be difficult to drive, read and even observe facial expressions.

The early stages of cataracts are not obvious, and they usually grow gradually. Eventually they can obstruct your vision so much that you need surgery. You can read more about the procedure on the NHS website here.

Pre-Cataract Assessments

We will assess your vision, prescription and health of the eyes, which is necessary to refer you for a cataract surgery. On this appointment the cataract referral will be made to your choice of provider. We have a selection of places to choose from, but do not worry our Opticians will be on hand to help and reccomend the best care for you and your lifestyle.

Post-Cataract Assessments

We will assess your visions, prescription and health of the eyes, usually around four weeks after having the cataract surgery. At this appointment we will provide spectacles, if any are needed.
