Our Eye Examination Services

Having an eye test is a key part of keeping your eyes healthy and your vision clear. At the beginning of an eye examination, our optometrist will look closely at all aspects of vision and eye health, ask why you are having your eyes examined, whether its a routine check-up or for a specific reason. If you are experiencing problems with your eyes or vision our optometrist will need to know what symptoms you’ve been having or you’ve had, how long you have had them, and whether any changes have happened suddenly or slowly over a period of time.

Our optometrists will also need to know about your general health and if there’s any current medication in use, or do you have any close relatives with any history of eye problems. You will be asked about your previous glasses or contact lenses. In addition, our optometrist will ask about the kind of job you do and whether you play sports or have any hobbies.

Contact Lens Assessment
£25.00

Contact lenses offer great flexibility and convenience to your lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to wear contact lenses full-time, just for playing sport or going out, we’re here to help get you started. It’s simple and easy - our contact lens assesment will ensure you’re comfortable and wearing the best lenses for your vision and lifestyle.

The assessment is simple and will fly by - first, our Opticians need to check your eyes to make sure you can wear contact lenses. Then they will help you choose lenses depending on your lifestyle and prescription. They will then carefully place them into your eyes ensuring they’re comfortable. If you’re happy and want to continue wearing contact lenses, our experts will show you how to safely put in, take out and store your new lenses. If you have any questions or concerns they will be happy to answer them and advise you. Your £25.00 assessment also includes a contact lens teach (multiple if needed) and a FREE trial of contact lenses for you to try before ordering your daily, monthly or two-weekly contact lenses.

Contact Lens Check Up (Annually)
£25.00

Once you’ve been wearing your contact lenses for a while, we need to check that they are still comfortable and you can still see clearly. We’ll also ensure your eyes are healthy and can offer advice if you’re experiencing any dryness or irritation.

Just like regular eye tests, routine check ups are an important part of wearing contact lenses. As well as checking the fit and suitability of your lenses, it’s important we can assess the health of your eyes.

If you are attending an appointment, remember to wear your contact lenses at least a couple of hours before the scheduled time.

Please Note: We can not supply lenses to anyone with an out of date test or lens check.

CUES Clinical Assessment
£50.00 Covered By NHS

The Community Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES) provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flashes, floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries.

Who Is This Service For?

If you are registered with a local GP in an area where the service is commissioned, you can use this service. It is for people of all ages – adults and children – and you do not need a GP referral. Children under 16 years must be accompanied at their appointment by an adult.

If you have a major eye condition that is being regularly monitored by your optometrist or hospital eye service, such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma, this is not covered by this service. In this case you should consult your usual optometrist or hospital eye service directly for advice in the usual way.

Please Note: that this service is NOT an eye test.

Cataract Referrals
FREE

Your optician will be able to tell you if you’re eligible for cataract surgery and will talk you through the options available to you. You can choose where to have your cataract surgery, whether that’s at your local NHS hospital, an independent hospital, or a private clinic.

Many independent hospitals are contracted to perform NHS cataract surgery ,so it’s important to remember that choosing an independent provider doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have to pay for your cataract surgery.

If you already know where you want to go for cataract treatment, make sure you tell your optician so they can refer you to the right hospital. If you’re not sure, your optician will be able to offer some advice and recommendations based on their experience and feedback from other cataract patients.
